The TE-EPC (Power Converters) group is responsible for design, procurement or construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of all power converter systems and static VAR compensators for the present and future accelerators, including experimental areas at CERN (LINAC 2 and 3, PSB, PS, AD, ISOLDE, East Area, SPS, North Area; transfer lines, CNGS and LEIR; projects and facilities: LHC ring, TI 2&8, LHC experiments, CTF3, CAST,…).

The priority of the group is focused on the LHC project. For the PO group, the LHC project includes all the power converters allowing the injection of protons and heavy ions from the source towards the LHC accelerator (Linac 2, Booster, PS, TT2, SPS, TI2&TI8, LHC machine for protons; Linac 3 and LEIR for heavy ions).
